Beauxbatons, the french Academie de Magie, and the idyllic Wizarding town of Beauxcoteau saw very little of the war, but even their slight unease has passed. Things have returned to normal within the walls of the school. Normal, but never boring. Death might not be hanging over their heads, but failure, humiliation and social ruin are. The students are struggling to find themselves, forge their futures and avoid the sometimes cruel atmosphere of school. They are falling in and out of love, trying to keep peace with their siblings, and attempting to live up to the expectations placed on them. And then there are the students who don't want peace, don't want to grow up and refuse to follow anyone else's rules. There are Quidditch games to win, dances that require dates and tests to study for. Normal? Maybe. Boring? Never. Academie de Magie is a social game off to a great start. They had finally made it. Friends embraced each other, lovers kissed, and children bounced happily. The truce between the Cylons and Humans remained steady as each gazed upon the beautiful planet known as Earth. They had found their new home, and they were going to share it. The planet would help continue the existence of each race, or so they thought. The few that were given the chance to step foot on the ground soon found the planet not to be up to their expectations. There was nothing left; the planet was in ruin. Something had happened many years before their arrival. How could this desolate place be home of the Thirteenth Tribe? How could it be home to anyone? The group looked over the land, unable to comprehend what could possibly have done this to a planet. There was silence; everyone was too surprised to speak, and too downtrodden to suggest that it was only part of the planet. Before anyone had a chance to return to the Raptor, Dr. Gaius Balter stumbled across a piece of technology that was foreign to him. He stood in front of the DHD and peered over it, recognizing the shapes as constellations. In fact, he recognized quite a few of them, from this galaxy and their home galaxy. As he examined the device, Six appeared next to it, whispering in his ear and telling him to punch in a certain code. He listened to her, and did as he was told. Within moments, the watery-vortex that was the wormhole burst forth through the ring-like portal and the group was taken aback. The group cautiously approached the Stargate, curious as to what type of technological capabilities the 'Thirteenth Tribe' possessed. It was Kara Thrace, triggered by something in her memories, that passed through the Event Horizon first, followed shortly after by Lee and Sam. It wasn't long until the rest of the group made their way through. What awaited them on the other side was something that would surprise them even more: the past. A glitch in the system allowed the group to bypass Atlantis' precautionary measures, and they all arrived on the other side, guns pointed at them and Dr. Elizabeth Weir gazing down at them. And that is where the battle for humanity continued, for the groups all worked together to keep the Wraith and Ori from teaming up and destroying Earth together... The Event Horizon is a Battlestar Galactica/Stargate RP that allows for most characters from the series (New BSG, SG-1 & Atlantis) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place during the last season of SG-1/season 3 of Atlantis and the last season of BSG. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still. Lancaster College, a private school for A-Level students in Oxford, began having a problem with their students. Many were failing their exams, deciding they didn't have the time or motivation to focus on their courses and studies. Parties began happening every night, teachers lost control, and the students began cutting, being disrespectful, and violent. The needle that broke the camel's back, however, was the library fire. It's still debated whether it was an act of violence, or if someone just left a cigarette burning, because practically everything in it was destroyed, but something had to be done, but what? It was the Headmaster who decided that it might be best for everyone if the students began boarding at school. It would give the professors a better idea what the students were like, allowing them to focus and improve on their classroom tactics. If they were able to approach the subjects in a way that the students could grasp, then the students would surely benefit. So, the school was closed down that December, and the Headmaster called in construction crews to build another building- a four story dorm. After several months, Mullen Hall, Lancaster College's newest addition, was ready for use. A few students weren't exactly happy with the idea of a sixth form boarding school. To them, it severly limited freedom. But to most, it gave a good idea what University would be like. So a handful of teens signed up. It is now 2008 and the new school year is just beginning. Will the Headmaster's idea prove successful? Will the students finally buckle down and learn or will they continue to fail their A-levels? (Comment on this)

promoting [ trial_mod ]	7:23p	Time of Trial Rules-Character List-Format-Application-Sample Application-Plot-Game Facts-Played-Bys-Icon&PB Sources During the 1970's, the war between The Death Eaters and The Order of Phoenix raged on. People disappeared and entire families were killed by the hands of the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord Voldemort- and the Ministry of Magic stood nearly powerless to stop these massacres. The threat of pureblood society taking complete control over the Wizarding World rose, and Albus Dumbledore created the Order of the Phoenix. The blood shed and the body count between the two groups grew and grew while no progress was made on either side. A red scare ran throughout the Wizarding world; people who were even thought to be Death Eaters were convicted and killed without a fair trial. The Dark Lord used his intelligence in the Ministry to gain what he believed would be the knowledge that would win the war. A prophecy about a child that would have the power to defeat him, and through much of his own research he discovered this child was born of Lily and James Potter. He set about trying to find the couple who had defied him three times and kill their son. Lily and James were forewarned of the fate of their son, and managed to elude Lord Voldemort for a number of years- they did not stop living their lives. Not only did they have their son- but they also had a daughter while in hiding. They hoped the terror would stop and they would be able to return to their daily lives, it didn't. Peter Pettigrew, their secret keeper betrayed them and on the evening of October 31st, 1983- he came to Godric's Hollow to kill them. Things did not go as planned, James Potter sacrificed his life for his family that night- and in doing so he killed Lord Voldemort. No one knows exactly what happened that night- he sent his wife and children into hiding, and as the house fell down around them they were able to barely escape and take refuge at Hogwarts until the storm could blow over. With the Dark Lord Dead, though no body recovered- the Ministry was able to capture many of the most prominent Death Eaters and those who weren't killed were given life sentences in Azkaban- Peter Pettigrew included. The Potter's had become a famous family, and the fact that James Potter's widow was testifying made the trial a public spectacle. Some of these families were able to buy their way out of Azkaban, but their reputations were not unscathed. The only trace of the Dark Lord was a package he left with the Lestrange family- containing a few items from the Founders of Hogwarts. There was no note, no instructions- just a few seemingly useless items. Time went by, and the threat of the Death Eaters became something only remembered by History Books. The next generations started at Hogwarts, and it seemed that all was well in the Wizarding World. But that was only for the time being.. The year is 1995 when Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts to start their fifth year. No one has any idea what is in store for them. The War has begun.. People disappeared and entire families were killed by the hands of the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord Voldemort- and the Ministry of Magic stood nearly powerless to stop these massacres. The threat of pureblood society taking complete control over the Wizarding World rose, and Albus Dumbledore created the Order of the Phoenix. The blood shed and the body count between the two groups grew and grew while no progress was made on either side. A red scare ran throughout the Wizarding world; people who were even thought to be Death Eaters were convicted and killed without a fair trial. The Dark Lord used his intelligence in the Ministry to gain what he believed would be the knowledge that would win the war. A prophecy about a child that would have the power to defeat him, and through much of his own research he discovered this child was born of Lily and James Potter. He set about trying to find the couple who had defied him three times and kill their son. Lily and James were forewarned of the fate of their son, and managed to elude Lord Voldemort for a number of years- they did not stop living their lives. Not only did they have their son- but they also had a daughter while in hiding. They hoped the terror would stop and they would be able to return to their daily lives, it didn't. Peter Pettigrew, their secret keeper betrayed them and on the evening of October 31st, 1983- he came to Godric's Hollow to kill them. Things did not go as planned, James Potter sacrificed his life for his family that night- and in doing so he killed Lord Voldemort. No one knows exactly what happened that night- he sent his wife and children into hiding, and as the house fell down around them they were able to barely escape and take refuge at Hogwarts until the storm could blow over. With the Dark Lord Dead, though no body recovered- the Ministry was able to capture many of the most prominent Death Eaters and those who weren't killed were given life sentences in Azkaban- Peter Pettigrew included. The Potter's had become a famous family, and the fact that James Potter's widow was testifying made the trial a public spectacle. Some of these families were able to buy their way out of Azkaban, but their reputations were not unscathed. The only trace of the Dark Lord was a package he left with the Lestrange family- containing a few items from the Founders of Hogwarts. There was no note, no instructions- just a few seemingly useless items. Time went by, and the threat of the Death Eaters became something only remembered by History Books. The next generations started at Hogwarts, and it seemed that all was well in the Wizarding World. But that was only for the time being.. The year is 1995 when Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts to start their fifth year. No one has any idea what is in store for them. The War has begun.. It is social-friendly, though there is an ongoing plot arc much like any individual book in the series. Characters can do what normal teenagers (albeit with wizarding talents) would do, but there is so much more going on. Twenty-two years ago, the Wizarding World was restored from a Dark Time, under the control of Lord Voldemort. Since that time, a Renaissance has given birth to new ideas. But with new ideas comes the inevitable growing pains of an evolving society. The Ministry is as divided as ever and their infighting is making them blind to a new threat under their noses which if known would make their petty squabbles seem pale. Voldemort wanted to wrest control of the entire Wizarding World for his own selfish desires. He feared dying. He feared being forgotten. Now, because of a rare astronomical alignment and an unfortunate mistake by a child, Deep Magic is proving an equal threat. It could pale the Dark Lord's ambitions. Join us. It is a new saga for the Harry Potter Universe. The time of peace is coming to an end. New heroes- and villains- need to step up. Its all come full circle. Currently! We've had a sweet start to the interest and the characters submitted have been great! We are in special need of: Boys! Slytherins, Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs! I'd personally like to see: A Corner and a Goldstein, as well as a Longbottom. But we have many many children open with a ton of potential. Game Opens August 25th! (Comment on this)
